Dr Shahara Ellahi | Clinical Psychologist
HCPC registration: PYL049120
I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist offering remote and face-to-face therapy in London. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at UCL, alongside NHS training across adult mental health, CAMHS, health psychology and perinatal services.
My work is guided by careful assessment and psychological formulation, so that therapy is grounded in an understanding of your experiences and the wider context of your life. I recognise that everyone has their own story, and that our relationships, experiences and circumstances shape how we feel about ourselves and the world around us.
I take an integrative approach, drawing mainly on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with Compassion-Focused, Cognitive Analytic and narrative approaches where they fit best. Rather than fitting you to a model, I begin by understanding you and shape the work around what matters most.
I work with adults, children and young people experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, relationship difficulties and the psychological impact of long-term physical health conditions. I have experience in perinatal mental health, supporting women through pregnancy and the postnatal period. Whether your difficulties are recent or longstanding, or are hard to put into words, I offer a space to understand them and find a way forward.

Therapy begins with building a shared understanding of what has brought you here, including how your early experiences and ways of coping have shaped current patterns. With curiosity and compassion, we explore what these patterns once did for you, notice where they may no longer be helping, and build on the strengths you already have.
My style is warm, collaborative and thoughtful. I aim to treat everyone I work with as I would want a loved one to be treated: with respect, patience and genuine care, in a space where you can go at your own pace and talk about what matters, including the harder things.Reaching out for support can feel daunting, and beginning therapy takes courage. If you want to make lasting change, or simply need space to reflect, I will work alongside you towards what is important to you.
