Dr Georgina Dobson | Clinical Psychologist
HCPC registration: PYL048873

I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist based in London, offering remote therapy for individuals, couples and families. I have spent ten years studying psychology and have over five years of experience working within the NHS across specialist eating disorder services, community mental health, cognitive disorders, child development and neurodevelopmental assessment. I bring that clinical depth to my practice, alongside something less easy to put on paper.
I work with adults and young people experiencing a wide range of difficulties, such as anxiety (including health anxiety and social anxiety), eating difficulties (including restrictive eating, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and ARFID), phobias, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, trauma, identity, chronic illness, bereavement, stress, life transitions, and adjustment difficulties.
Alongside individual therapy, I also work with couples and families. I have
experience providing systemic couples and family therapy within the NHS,
supporting people to understand and change unhelpful relationship patterns, improve communication, and strengthen important relationships.
I work in a neuro-affirming way and have experience supporting neurodivergent
individuals and their families. I understand, from the inside, what it can feel like to move through the world in a brain that does not quite fit the standard mould. Rather than expecting you to adapt to therapy, I adapt therapy to you, your pace, your communication style, and your way of making sense of things.
My approach is integrative; I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy. I draw on a range of evidence-based models, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and systemic therapy.
I adapt flexibly to what you need, considering all aspects of who you are: your identity, your relationships, your culture, your history, and the wider context of your life. What matters most to you stays central. I believe that good therapy is built on genuine human connection. While my work is grounded in professional training, it is also shaped by my own lived experience of navigating adversity. Those experiences led me to this profession and allow me to connect with those I work with on a deeply human level, with authenticity and an appreciation of how important it is to feel truly heard, understood, and accepted when life feels difficult.
My style is warm, curious and compassionate, yet direct and honest when needed. I will not shy away from difficult conversations, but neither will I rush you. Together, we will develop a shared understanding of what has brought you to therapy, and what may help things feel better. I work in a trauma-informed way, taking time to understand your history and early experiences where relevant, and how those might be impacting you today along with any coping strategies you may have developed.
Whether you want to make real, lasting change or simply need a safe space to explore your feelings, reflect, and make sense of your experiences, I will work with you at your pace, towards what matters to you.
Reaching out for support takes courage and may come with uncertainty. Whatever brings you here, I will endeavour to make sure you feel listened to, supported, and that our work together feels truly meaningful.
