Dr Rory McCullough | Clinical Psychologist
HCPC registration: PYL048352

I am a Clinical Psychologist with experience supporting adults and older adults across a range of NHS services. I work with people experiencing many different challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, chronic pain/health problems, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, work-related challenges, and questions around identity. I also enjoy working with people who are making sense of an autism or ADHD diagnosis, whether this is something newly discovered or something they have been reflecting on for some time.
I aim to provide a warm, compassionate and thoughtful space where you feel safe to explore your experiences without judgement. I believe that therapy begins with understanding your unique story, recognising the strengths you already have, and making sense of how your difficulties have developed within the context of your relationships, life experiences and the wider world around you. Together, we can develop a shared understanding of what has brought you to therapy and work towards changes that feel meaningful and sustainable.
My work is informed by systemic thinking, which means I consider the important influence of our families, relationships, communities and culture on our wellbeing. I draw primarily on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Narrative Therapy, integrating these approaches flexibly to meet your individual needs.
I value curiosity, honesty and creativity in the therapeutic process, and see therapy as a collaborative relationship where you feel heard, understood and supported to move towards the life that matters most to you.
