Dr Susie Taplin | Clinical Psychologist
I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist who supports people with a wide range of difficulties. This has included people with emotional and relational difficulties relating to anxiety, depression, personality disorder, trauma, grief, eating disorders, and physical health concerns. I currently work in a specialist NHS psychotherapy service, and have several years of experience across NHS, charitable organisations and private practice. I offer a safe, thoughtful space where we can explore your experiences in the context of your life, relationships, and personal history.
My approach is relational, integrative, and trauma-informed. I draw on a range of evidence-based models, including psychodynamic therapy, Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), schema therapy, trauma-focused approaches, systemic therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). I also use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approaches for specific difficulties. I aim to tailor the work to you and your individual needs, supporting deeper understanding, emotional awareness, and new ways of coping.
I focus on understanding how earlier experiences and patterns may shape your current thoughts, feelings, and relationships. By developing insight into these patterns, therapy can support meaningful and lasting change, reducing distress and opening up new ways of relating to yourself and others.
